24 years and 9 months ago - NuSkin was founded with 3 principles:

Where we have been over the past 24 years, these principles have become a reality in a more profound way than anyone even realizes yet.
For the past 25 years, NuSkin distributors have been telling the world that, Baby Boomers, in particular, were rushing toward retirement age, and that they weren’t going to be able to afford to retire. That is equivalent to the annual economic output of Great Britain, France, and Germany combined. This economic tsunami isn’t going away anytime soon. I don’t believe that we are in a depression, but the value that we have lost over the last 15 months is going to take years to recover. In the meantime. we have boomers who are in a very bad spot. Fifteen months ago, there were 2 million boomers age 45 and above who were unemployed. Today there are 4 million boomers unemployed. These are not unqualified, uneducated people. These are people who did what they were supposed to do, but the reality is - their dream has evaporated.
There is a better way than the treadmill they have been on for the past 30 years. Never in our history has there been a better time to deliver a message of hope.
Point #1 There has never been a better time to deliver a message of hope and opportunity to a world that desperately needs it.
Point #2 For 25 years, NuSkin has been on a mission to keep people young.
Les Brown, speaking at our October, 2008, convention, said that during the great depression there were companies that actually prospered and used the opportunity to expand and grow their business. How were they able to prosper? After some further study, I found it was true.
Truman discovered 8 principles that set those companies apart. Here is just one:

Do you know where does the term Soap opera come from? While the economic world was collapsing, one company, Proctor & Gamble decided to do something different. They decided to create radio entertainment and have as its sponsor, one of their soap products! They created a show called Ma Perkins, a story of an old grandmother in small town USA who was doing the best to provide for her family in tough economic times. Proctor & Gamble sponsored this show with a soap product called Oxidal. No one had ever done this before!
The show was so successful that 8 years later, by 1939, Proctor & Gamble had doubled their marketing expenses and were sponsoring 21 shows. These shows became known as “Soap Operas” because they were tied to one of Proctor & Gamble’s products. The most important point is that while other companies were pulling back, Proctor & Gamble chose to innovate in a world that desperately needed it.
In our case, Nu Skin has been pursuing keeping people younger. The opportunity to do this has never been better.
We are fired up around the world about the Galvanic Spa. We are fired up about Tru Face Essence Ultra. We are fired up about Lifepak Nano. But what the field does not yet realize is that the technology platform we identify with in the trademarked ageLOC is much much larger than all those initiatives combined.
Right now, what we have told the field about ageLOC is that ageLOC is about the inhibition of an age related enzyme called arNOX, that, when interrupted, can have an impact on the way we age. This is true. But Joe Chang has now authorized Truman to inform the field that, in fact, what we have said so far about ageLOC is about 5% of the ageLOC story.
Coming up this Fall, 2009, you are going to hear about an ageLOC story that is going to dwarf the impact of the Galvanic Spa. It will dwarf the impact of Tru Face Essence Ultra and going to dwarf the impact of Lifepak Nano.
ageLOC is about attacking aging at the source and that positioning goes way behind ARnox inhibitors. In fact, GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, recently paid over $700 million dollars to acquire just 10% of the technology that we are going to be releasing this fall at convention.
What you have heard about ageLOC so far isn’t even an appetizer to the ammunition that we are going to put in the hands of our field leaders to really rock the world and to make this mission of preserving youth and keeping people young a reality.
If innovation is what propels people through difficult economic times, then I want you to know that Nu Skin is sitting on the mother of all innovations. A lot of people in our group have listened to your last conf call with Dan C, - very exciting information from you, however, The rumors have spread, based on what you said, that Glaxo Smith Kline now have bought 10 % of the Age Loc technology?
Our interpretation was that you used Glaxo only as an comparison to how big this is, could you please clarify?

Your interpretation is correct. Many of the pharma companies are trying to do what we are trying to do. Glaxo spent $700 million to acquire a 10% interest in a company that is also pursuing our mission. So the reference is for comparative purposes to show the value of what we are pursuing.
The point I wanted to emphasize with the field is this: as compelling as arNOX inhibitors are, ageLOC is about much, much more. arNOX inhibitors are a skirmish in the battle against aging. ageLOC is a full scale assault on aging. That full scale assault will be unveiled at convention.
